Kerrville, Texas (April 1, 2019) – The Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce that the Carver Park Sprayground opened for the 2019 season on April 1.
The Sprayground is free of charge and will remain open through October from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily except Tuesdays, when it will be closed for routine maintenance.
Carver Park is located at 820 Webster St. and features a playground, a large and small pavilion with BBQ grills, a multiuse field, and a walking trail in addition to the Sprayground.
Spraygrounds, also called water playgrounds or splash pads, are essentially playgrounds with the water component incorporated into features for added fun.
Commonly, spraygrounds such as the one at Carver Park are controlled by hand-activated motion sensors to run for a designated amount of time, with treated water that has a high-quality level similar to swimming pool water standards.
Rules for the sprayground include:
- Non-service animals are prohibited.
- Changing diapers within 6 feet of the water feature is prohibited.
- You may not use water feature if ill with contagious disease or diarrhea.
- Do not drink water from the water feature.
- Not to be used during bad weather.
- No running.
The City of Kerrville invites everyone to enjoy the Carver Park Sprayground or one of our other city parks! For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (830) 257-7300 or visit the city’s website at www.kerrvilletx.gov.
