KERRVILLE – A Kerrville man appeared before a judge on two cases of possession of child pornography charges on Monday, March 4 and was sentenced to eight years in prison and six years of probation.
John Collier Wise pled guilty to the charges in September 2018. As a result of the plea deal, the other cases against Wise were dismissed by officials.
Wise, 67, was arrested in March 2018 where he was facing 12 cases with 73 counts of child pornography. After his initial arrest last year, Wise’s bonds totaled $1,405,000, according to a website called www.lookwhogotbusted.com.
Authorities reported that Wise told them he began to look at child pornography when he was 50 years old, around the time that he was diagnosed with glaucoma.
In Texas, child pornography is a third-degree felony which carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.
