Kerr County Sheriff’s Office warns residents of phone scams

KERR COUNTY — The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that they have received numerous call regarding scam calls, texts, and emails.

Some different types of scams that are being reported daily are I.R.S. scam calls, Medicare / Medicaid, Drivers License scam calls, and Social Security scam calls.

“These scammers are using scare tactics and wording to mix up the potential victims,” said Sheriff W.R. Hierholzer in a press release issued Thursday.

“Scammers are requesting the person to verify their social security number, driver’s license number, or date of birth.”

The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public not to provide any personal or financial information to anyone they do not know, and to please use good judgment when dealing with these situations.
