KERRVILLE — Sites have come and gone over the years that show mugshots and jail record listings — like LookWhoGotBusted.com — which stopped updating for Kerr County in February 2019.
Golden Hills Marketing LLC (GHM), the parent company of Texas Breaking News and Kerrville Breaking News, has been working on an alternative since the summer of 2018.
The new site is PoliceBusts.com, which was debuted late in the evening on May 26, 2019, and received over 4,000 page views in the first three hours.
GHM President Mike Taylor said, “I believe it is important to keep the public informed about what is happening in our great community.”
“Just like with our news platform that is now state-wide with over 50,000 followers on Facebook, our strategy is to have Kerrville as the flagship for this venture and then branch out to other counties across the state, and eventually go nationwide.”
“My team and I have spent many days and nights trying to figure out how to implement the technical aspects behind this, and now the time has come to spread our wings and fly with it.”
Gillespie County is in development and is planned to be added next week to PoliceBusts.com.
As of now, Kerr County is the only county on the site, but Mike Taylor says his company plans to add eight more counties to the site over the next two months and to have over 30 counties by the end of 2019.
The site shows mugshots and public information about the latest arrests in Kerr County, but Mike says that his company will remove a listing if a charge is expunged or sealed for no charge.
“Other mugshot sites legally charge up to $150 for mugshot and police records removal, but we aren’t interested in taking advantage of people that already have enough to deal with. However, as a news organization, we do believe that the right thing to do is to keep the public aware of what is happening around them,” stated Mike.
The site has advertising opportunities for targeted marketing for attorneys and bail bond companies and is constantly updated twenty-four hours per day.
