Stepfather, Austin Overgard, pleads guilty to Injury of a Child with Intent


KERR COUNTY – Austin Overgard, age 23, pleaded guilty to the charges against him for Injury to a Child, a third-degree felony, according to Kerr County court documents filed on May 10, 2019.

The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on March 29 when Overgard’s 4-year-old stepson arrived at school with a burn on his neck. The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office later alleged that Overgard burned the child with a hot lighter.

Kerr County Public Records show that Overgard received 5 years probation with 300 hours of community service.

He also has to pay a $2500 fine and an $831.25 attorney fee.

Public records showed that Overgard was released from jail on March 30 after posting a $10,000 bond.
