Two arrested on drug charges in Gillespie County

GILLESPIE COUNTY – It was announced over the weekend that two suspects have been arrested on separate drug charges early Saturday morning in Gillespie County.

The Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office reported that the two individuals were arrested after a traffic stop that took place in the 10600 block of US Highway 290 East at around 12:29 a.m. on May 11.

GCSO stated that an investigation revealed that the driver, a 44-year-old male from Austin, did not have a valid drivers license. He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1 Gram (methamphetamine) and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1 Gram (ecstasy).

The passenger of the vehicle, described as a 34-year-old female from Austin, was also arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 1 Gram < 4 Grams (methamphetamine), according to GCSO.

Both suspects were booked in the Gillespie County Jail.
